Abstract

1. The addition of polycaproamide to a carburizer consisting of soot and sodium carbonate greatly speeds up the carburizing process. 2. Carburizing steels 3Kh13, ShKh15, and KhVG in carburizer containing polycaproamide makes it possible to obtain a case with as much as 4% C with a wear resistance 250–300% higher than that of quenched carburized steels.
