1. The testing of various methods of activating sintering of porous iron showed that the best permeability is obtained by alloying iron with copper. An addition of about 10% of copper improves the permeability 2–3 times (sintering temperature 1100–1150°C, duration 2 h). 2. The study was concerned with special features of mixing, pressing, sintering, and oxidation of iron-copper filters; the properties of sintered filters were also investigated.
