1. It is shown that at small iodine feeds the dehydrogenation indices both for isopentane and for n-butane are significantly inferior, in the reactor filled with solid acceptor, to the corresponding indices in the reactor filled with the quartz filler alone or the reactor filled with a combination of quartz filler and acceptor. 2. The iodination indices for the iodinated acceptor and the quartz filler are identical. 3. It is established that the role of the solid acceptor consists only in the absorption of HI with the formation of an iodide which is not oxidized during the time of the reaction cycle. 4. The oxidation of the iodide to iodine takes place only during the acceptor regeneration cycle when the raw material is not being fed to the reactor.
