The quality of forgings manufactured with high-speed drop hammers

Abstract

1. After forging in high-speed drop hammers the mechanical properties are equal to (steels 45 and 1Kh13) or exceed (steel Kh18N9T) those of the heat treated steels. 2. The properties obtained in drop forging are retained or improved by additional heat treatment.
