Orientation stretching of Lavsan fibre on twisting-stretching machines takes place in two stages, the ratio between them depending on the temperature conditions in each zone. The thread tenacity depends mainly on the overall stretching frequency, which remains constant over a fairly wide temperature range for a given fibre. The temperature conditions of stretching also determine such fibre properties as the degree of shrinkage and crystallinity.
