Abstract

1. L'etude histologique des premiers stades de la regeneration caudale chez l'Annelide PolycheteNereis diversicolor O. F.Muller a montre que l'epiderme et l'epithelium intestinal bordant la plaie sont respectivement a l'origine des structures ectoneurales et endodermiques du regenerat; elle n'a cependant pas permis de determiner avec certitude lequel des deux types cellulaires (cellules peritoneales, cœlomocytes) assure la restitution des formations mesodermiques. 2. Des experiences d'irradiation X totale deNereis amputees, d'irradiation X localisee au segment contigu au plan d'amputation et pratiquee immediatement avant la section, et enfin de greffes de tissus sains deNereis dans le cœlome d'individus irradies ont permis d'attribuer aux seules cellules peritoneales l'exclusivite de la regeneration mesodermique. 3. Des irradiations X effectuees avant ou apres la section et localisees au segment contigu au plan d'amputation ou a l'ensemble du troncon a l'exclusion du segment blesse, ainsi que des resections repetees de ce segment ou du blasteme ont mis en evidence le role exclusif du segment contigu au plan de section dans la mise en place des structures mesodermiques et l'absence de migration intersegmentaire de cellules regeneratrices mesodermiques. 4. ChezNereis diversicolor O. F.Muller, la regeneration se fait donc sans l'intervention d'elements totipotents ou migrateurs; l'epiderme, les epitheliums cœlomiques et l'epithelium intestinal du seul segment blesse assurent respectivement la regeneration des formations ectoneurales, mesodermiques et endodermiques.
