We report the preparation and mechanical and physical properties of air-cured BRFC (bamboo pulp fibre reinforced cement composite). The bamboo species was Sinocalamus affinis (Rendle) McClue. Bamboo fibres were obtained from kraft pulp unbleached commercial package paper from Chang Jiang Paper Mill, China. The matrix was prepared from ordinary Portland cement
