1. Conditions of local increase in the characteristic impedance of blood vessels leading to interference between incident and reflected waves of arterial pressure, analysis of which yields criteria for measurement of systolic and diastolic pressure, compared with the Korotov's sounds whose use is widely established in clinical practice, are examined.
