Eight patients with carpal coalition are recorded in a predominantly white population with an incidence of 0.11%. These most commonly involve the lunate and triquetral, and the capitate and hamate, and less commonly fusion of the trapezium and trapezoid with the scaphoid. One of the patients had an associated symphylangism and another brachydactyly. Other conditions associated with carpal coalition are enumerated.
