Abstract

1. L'etude du macroplancton des 300 premiers metres par plongees soucoupe et traits de chalut pelagique IKMT simultanes constitue une methode interessante, car elle permet de verifier les determinations faites a vue au cours des plongees, elle permet aussi d'aborder le probleme de la densite des organismes, de la stratification, des essaims, et des migrations verticales in situ. 2. Les observations faites a bord de la soucoupe montrent qu'il faut etre tres prudent dans l'exploitation des resultats, de nombreuses causes d'erreur pouvant intervenir. Les resultats numeriques n'ont qu'une valeur indicatrice locale et temporaire. 3. D'une maniere generale il y a un gradient de richesse positif de 0 a 300 m pour les masses gelatineuses et les filaments pour le seston (avec quelques irregularites) et pour le macroplancton sauf la nuit ou les 50 premiers metres sont plus riches. 4. Lors des 3 peches, les especes les plus representees sont: Meganytiphanes norvegica (22,8%), Chelophyes appendiculata (21,5%), Phronima sedentaria (18,9%), Sergestes arcticus (8,3%), Abylopsis tetragona (7%), Pyrosoma atlanticum (2,7%), Nematoscelis megalops (2,5%). 5. La notion de concentration de populations du macroplancton est intimement liee a celle de migration verticale des organismes et d'essaim. Les resultats numeriques donnes par les observations en plongees et les peches au chalut pelagique sont tres variables suivant le temps. Il semble que les organismes macroplanctoniques et micronectoniques soient en perpetuels mouvements ascendant et descendant, sauf pendant une courte periode (4 ou 5 h) au milieu de la journee. 6. L'heterogeneite de la distribution du macroplancton est une fois de plus constatee. La simultaneite des plongees et des peches montre que la longueur du trait de chalut (30 min) donne une bonne idee de la distribution pelagique. L'amelioration de la methode de peche (fermeture du chalut...), et d'autre part le renouvellement d'operations simultanees «soucoupe» «chalut pelagique» pourrait permettre de preciser la notion d'essaim.
