The draining system of the corpus striatum is constituted of: a) the caudate veins of variable morphology but constantly present; b) the superior striate veins that are thin and almost inconstant; c) the anteroinferior striate veins, rather constant thin vessels; d) the postero-inferior striate veins, small inconstant perforating vessels. — The evaluation of the veins of striate body can provide useful information especially in the diagnosis of tumours of the anterior striatum.
