The different factors influencing the accuracy of quantitative microradiography have been investigated. The evaluation of densitometric measurements for dry mass determinations has been improved considerably by the introduction of polynomial regression analysis of the output signals for the reference system. Computer analysis has made it possible to extend the number of measurements thereby increasing the precision. The total random error varied between 4 and 5 per cent.
