In einem See in Oberschwaben wurde eine neue dermatitiserregende Cercarienart der Ocellata-Gruppe mit Anisus leucostomus als Zwischenwirt gefunden. Aus diesen Cercarien konnte in Anas platyrhynchos die mannliche Adultform, Gigantobilharzia suebica n. sp., gezogen werden. Ihr naturlicher Endwirt ist unbekannt.
