Abstract

New neutral platinum complexes of Schiff bases or their hydrated derivatives were prepared and a new path to mixed ligand platinum(II) complexes is proposed. Reactions of [PtCl4]2− with multidentate Schiff bases give chelates which react further, resulting in cis-coordinated mixed N-donor ligand complexes. Structures are proposed on the basis of chemical analyses, electrical conductivities and i.r. studies.
