Meiosis was studied in several clones of Saccharum spontaneum with chromosome numbers ranging from 2n=40 to 2n=126. Abnormalities recorded include occurrence of univalents, pseudo bivalents, multivalents, heteromorphic or unequal bivalents, chromosome mosaicism, secondary association of bivalents, and complement fractionation. Their origin and importance are discussed.
