Abstract

It has been shown, especially in the species Vicia villosa, that youth development and seed production of plants can be furthered by vernalization. The method led to the selection of plants with an abundant vegetative development and was applied in the seed production of hairy vetches. Moreover, experiments on the relation between vernalization and photoperiodism have been discussed.
