The life-cycles of Diplostomum spathaceum (Rudolphi, 1819) and D. pseudospathaceum Niewiadomska, 1984 are presented as being in agreement with the status of these species as outlined by Niewiadomska (1984). The descriptions of the cercariae and the metacercariae are given on the basis of the author's own material; the literature referring to them is critically reviewed and put in order. Some previously described cercariae and metacercariae are recognized as corresponding to those of D. spathaceum and D. pseudospathaceum. ac]19840601
