Choroidal neovascularization (CNV) is one of the most sight-threatening complications of multiple eye diseases. While the diagnosis is primarily based on clinical and imaging findings, knowing the histopathology is fundamental to understanding the underlying causative pathophysiology. Due to the extensive differential diagnosis and potential etiologies for this condition, various treatment modalities are available. At times, a combination of treatments is needed to adequately control the disease process. It is important to emphasize that the vast majority of these entities can be diagnosed, classified, and treated clinically and CNV is an uncommon complication; therefore, pathology specimens are scarce.
