The theory of star formation and evolution is one of the most successful Astrophysical theories in last century. Based on this theory, people can predict the fate of a single star and various physical properties of a stellar population. Lots of conclusions of stellar populations in star clusters are based on the star formation and evolution theory, making understanding it of paramount importance. In this chapter, we will introduce the background knowledges of star clusters as well as star formation and evolution theory, including how to describe a simple stellar population and multiple stellar populations based on current stellar evolutionary models.
| citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
