
Galileo’s discovery of the four large satellites of Jupiter allowed the investigation of a new hierarchically arranged gravitational system in addition to the planetary system. The dynamics of Jovian satellites have thus attracted a lot of attention since then, especially for what concerns the motions of the regular satellites, the ones that orbit the planet in nearly circular, nearly equatorial orbits.
