The sensory cells of the organ of Corti are outer hair cells of three to four rows and inner hair cells of a single row, which are fixed on the basal lamina by the supporting cells. The tectorial membrane extends to cover the hair cells and the Hensen’s cell. At the bottom of the sensory cells, there are nerve endings.
