The major symptoms and behavior displayed in cases discussed under this taxon are sufficiently striking and unusual that they probably merit the term “exotic” as much as any of the other syndromes discussed in this book. They consist of a fear of such intensity and focus that it goes beyond the typical anxiety syndrome, together with the involvement of other people to assist the victim in preventing his penis from retracting into his body.
