Abstract

The larger part of this chapter presents a resume of the prehistoric distribution of Phaseolus against a background of time, geography, and human culture in the Greater Southwest (northwestern Mexico and southwestern United States); Mesoamerica; Andean South America (highland and coast); the Intermediate Zone (northern South America through Chiapas, Mexico).
