Abstract

Operating-room staff is a subset of health-care workers. Their work involves the preparation for, performance of and clean up after surgical procedures. Operating-room staff includes health professionals (nurses, surgeons) and support staff, including cleaning and portering staff. Activities can be divided into those that occur in the operating theatre during the surgical procedure and those that occur in or out of the operating theatre, in the preparation and clean-up phases.
