Angiographic estimation of ventricular mass has been applied to the left ventricle. The right ventricular myocardium has not been subject to such studies due to the complex structure of the right ventricle and its relatively thin, coarsely trabeculated wall. Estimation of volume of the right ventricle has indeed been attempted, but no meaningful estimates of right ventricular muscle mass obtained through angiocardiography have been published. The following considerations, therefore, are concerned with means of improvement of angiocardiographic determination of left ventricular muscle mass.
