
Major fractures of the comphcated knee joint involving the femoral condyles and the tibial plateau are fixed with the larger implants of the standard set. Use of the SFS is hmited to small fractures, components of major fractures and avulsions of the ligaments. Since knee injuries have increased considerably in recent years it is sensible to consider these lesions in a separate chapter.
