Infusion of Fetal Liver Cells in Aplastic Anemia

Abstract

Several experimental data support the hypothesis that fetal liver of early embryonation represents a good source of stem cells for transplantation purposes with a low degree of immunocompetence [1, 2, 6]. For these reasons fetal liver transplantation in bone marrow failure in humans lacking an histocompatible donor has been considered. There are few reports in the literature on fetal liver transplantation in aplastic anemia [3, 4, 5, 7].
