Metall-Metall-Bindung

Abstract

In diesem Abschnitt wenden wir uns Verbindungen zu, bei denen zwischen zwei oder mehreren Metallatomen eine kovalente Bindung diskutiert wird. Bei der Einfuhrung der 18-VE-Regel (Kap. 3.2) wurde bereits die Moglichkeit von Metall-Metall-Bindungen erwahnt. Die Formulierung solcher Bindungen weicht stark von den Wernerschen Vorstellungen uber die Molekulchemie von Ubergangsmetallen ab und der Durchbruch gelang erst in den 1950er Jahren, als durch Rontgenstrukturanalyse das Vorliegen von Metall-Metall-Bindungen eindeutig belegt wurde.
