Abstract

Business Process Management (BPM) oder auch Geschaftsprozessmanagement hat als eine Methodik zur Gestaltung der Aufbau- und Ablauforganisation eines Unternehmens seinen Ursprung bereits vor ca. 30-40 Jahren. Seit ca. 5 Jahren erfahrt es eine Renaissance insbesondere in der Dienstleistungsbranche und damit auch in der Versicherungswirtschaft. Ausloser hierfur waren wesentliche Fortschritte in einem ganz anderen Bereich, namlich der IT-Technologie. Mit dem Siegeszug der Internet-Technologie entstand ein neuer Architekturansatz - die Service Orientierte Architektur (SOA). Mit dieser Entwicklung konnte erstmalig ein geschlossener Entwicklungsansatz fur IT-Anwendungen, der sich strikt aus der Geschaftsprozessorientierung ableitet und erst bei konformen, serviceorientierten IT-Anwendungen endet, definiert werden. Der Artikel zeigt diesen Ansatz auf, stellt dessen Auswirkungen auf die “Versicherung der Zukunft” dar, gibt ein konkretes Anwendungsbeispiel fur einen Geschaftsprozess und diskutiert die Erfahrungen dieses ubergreifenden Ansatzes innerhalb der Generali Deutschland Gruppe.
