Bone metastases are the commonest bone malignancy. In the paediatric population, bone metastases occur in several common solid tumours. Detection of bone metastases is essential so that appropriate management and treatment can be undertaken. The presence of bone metastases is generally indicative of a poor prognosis. Imaging using radiological and nuclear medicine techniques is essential for early diagnosis and determination of the extent of bone involvement.
