Lower urinary tract symptoms, both storage and emptying, are common among women with pelvic organ prolapse. Many reconstructive surgeons have used urodynamics as part of the standard workup in women with POP; however recently the utility of UDS and its ability to impact surgical planning have come into question. The utility of urodynamics appears to be in assessing patients with POP that do not complain of SUI clinically and in women with obstructive voiding symptoms.
