Ulnar nerve entrapment can be a cause of elbow, wrist, and hand pain. The ulnar nerve travels through several canals or tunnels, and, like the better-known carpal tunnel syndrome, these tunnels can cause entrapment. It is commonly seen in patients participating in throwing sports, such as baseball. Two primary sites are seen in ulnar nerve entrapments – cubital tunnel and Guyon’s canal. Appropriate diagnosis is necessary for appropriate treatment, and ulnar entrapment should be considered in patients with weakness or clumsiness of the hand.
