Historically retailers have been used to catering to consumers in their domestic market. However, this situation is no longer true. There has been a growth in the number of international retailers, most of whom originated in advanced industrialized countries like the United States, Canada, France, Germany, and Japan. Such examples include - entry of Sears into Mexico, South America, Spain, and Japan; entry of Walgreens into Mexico. Another trend emerging in the United states is the growing ethnic diversity of its own population.
