Stepped Care 2.0 is flexible. It is not a staging or pathways model. In keeping with recovery principles and values, clients are able to chart their own course. Preference is guided by establishing clear expectations. As part of the informed consent process, clients learn what they can expect from the wide variety of available options. They also learn what is expected of them. In this way, preference is honoured in the context of more shared responsibility for treatment planning and decision-making. Choices are also guided by data. Stepped Care 2.0 expands the concept of evidence, by emphasizing the value of practice-based outcomes obtained through continuous and transparent therapeutic measurement, otherwise known as feedback informed treatment. System navigation is then steered by both preference and the emerging evermore comprehensive dataset obtained through continuous tracking of symptoms, wellness, strengths and capacities.
