It is a familiar idea that the small press has historically been integral to the development and circulation of revolutionary thought and experimental literature. This is true, but it tends to subordinate the small press to the role of transmission of text and ideas, and so sidelines the significance of its complex material forms. This chapter displaces the centrality of text and ideas in order to foreground small press materialities as themselves sites of politics and aesthetic experimentation, focussing on a pamphlet edition of Jacques Camatte and Gianni Collu’s left-communist text ‘On Organization’ (1969/72).
