This chapter presents the formulations of model predictive control strategies. We cover the regulation and the reference tracking versions of the model predictive controller. Second, we present the procedure of conversion of the optimal control problem to matrix forms of optimization problems (see Chap. 2). Subsequently, we address the topic of solving optimal control problems.
