New information and communication technologies are increasingly dominating our daily lives to the point of becoming indispensable. The computerization of society is now a reality, no sector is aloof from this transformation. This human invention, which has made progress, certainly facilitated the lives of human beings, but at the same time generated new illegal behaviors: computer crimes. Cybercrime has a very broad meaning, characterized by dematerialization, anonymity, internationality, the technicality of matter and its rapid evolution. Cybercrime refers to the use of digital and electronic capabilities, or software to destroy, eliminate, and exploit public or private information systems, there are several definitions of cyber-security; this concept does not yet have a globally accepted definition. The various attempts at definition have shown how this notion is vast, complex and affects many fields; also this concept can be seen as set of computer processes aiming to protect data transiting over the Internet. The intrusion detection systems (IDSs) and intrusion prevention system (IPSs) play an essential role in detecting anomalies and attacks in the networks or system and to protect data transiting. In this paper, we survey IDS open sources whose objective is to propose a hybrid IDS.
