
This chapter covers the handling of surgical ophthalmic pathology specimens in theatre and in the pathology laboratory. The handling of the specimens in theatre covers fresh tissue handling for frozen sections, which fixatives are required for the various specimens, orientation of specimens, and how to communicate clearly with pathology colleagues by filling out the pathology request form adequately.
