Abstract

Disorders of the cerebrovascular system constitute a major class of diseases affecting the central nervous system. A detailed understanding of the cervical and cranial vascular anatomy and physiology is essential for successful diagnostic and interventional management of cerebrovascular disorders. This chapter will provide a basic overview of angiographic arterial anatomy of the cervicocranial circulation while emphasizing clinical considerations pertinent to interventions of the cervicocranial vasculature.
