
Nearly all patients with coronary artery disease have at least one modifiable cardiovascular risk factor and most risk factors remain inadequately controlled after patients are diagnosed with coronary heart disease (CHD). The suboptimal management of cardiovascular risk factors in secondary prevention contributes to high rates of recurrent coronary events in patients with a history of myocardial infarction.
