
Surgical diseases of the endocrine glands are uncommon during pregnancy. However, they are important, as the hormonal abnormalities that do occur often cause profound changes, morbidity, and potential mortality in the mother, fetus, and neonate. This chapter explores the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands during pregnancy.
