
There are three main indications for radical cystectomy: a) to cure tumours localised to the bladder or with a single involved regional node, b) the minimal possibility of curing tumours no longer localised to the bladder but still confined to the anterior pelvic space, c) the necessity to relieve symptoms due to the tumour or arising following previous treatment or associated neoplasms.
