</script>Nephrologists are often presented with the problem of the immediate need for access to the circulation for hemodialysis. For this purpose, the use of the Scribner shunt implies the possible loss of peripheral vessels, while femoral vein cannulation before each dialysis is often painful for the patient and time-consuming for medical and nursing staff, as well as difficult to manage in ambulatory patients.
