Abstract

Business Performance Management (BPM) stellt einen umfassenden Ansatz zur Planung, Messung und Steuerung der Wertschöpfung von Unternehmen dar. Durch die Einführung von BPM-Lösungen versprechen sich die Unternehmen vor allem verbesserte Unterstützung der Entscheidungsfindung, höhere Effizienz des Berichtswesens und der Unternehmensplanung, bessere Ressourcenallokation, erhöhte Auskunftsfähigkeit und Transparenz sowie bessere Vorhersagbarkeit von Aufwendungen. Die Nutzung aktueller Entwicklungen der Informationstechnologie, die Unterstützungsprozesse und Systeme für die Umsetzung und Operationalisierung des BPM liefert, stellt eine der wesentlichen Grundlagen für das Business Performance Management dar: Ziele sind die unternehmensweite Vereinheitlichung von BPM-Initiativen, die Integration und Konsolidierung bestehender, häufig bereichsspezifischer Insellösungen, die systematische Ableitung und Definition von Kennzahlen sowie die Verknüpfung von Strategie-, Prozess- und Systemebene zu einem geschlossenen Kreislauf für Planung, Messung und Steuerung der Leistungserbringung.
