Ovariohysterectomy in a pet goat with hydrometra

Abstract

Abstract A 4‐year‐old pet goat was referred for abdominal distension. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed the presence of a hydrometra. Surgical ovariohysterectomy carried out by midline laparotomy resulted in permanent resolution of the clinical signs. This case report expands the differential diagnosis of abdominal distension in goats and provides details of the surgical correction technique of hydrometra in pet goats.
