While it is true that a revision to ISO 14001:2004 is being considered at this time—and it will be the third version of the standard—my intent is not to discuss upcoming changes. Instead, I offer some ideas for getting the most from the current version of this environmental management system (EMS) standard—so that your organization can sustain its EMS program long enough to prepare for the next round of revisions (whenever it happens).
