In order to solve the phenomenon of color temperature offset in special airborne LCD at different brightness levels, a method of adjusting the OGB backlight based on FPGA and Correction Algorithm to realize dynamic adjustment of white balance was proposed. In this paper, FPGA was used as the main control chip, and a direct LED backlight source was adopted. S9674 color sensor was selected to sample red, green, and blue light respectively, and AD590 temperature sensor was chosen to collect real‐time backlight temperature. Within the FPGA, sub‐module worked, respectively, to complete backlight control, serial port data control, discrete signal control, PWM waveform generation control, temperature acquisition and other functions. The correction algorithm was used to match the data collected by the color sensor with the reference value, and the color correction was performed. After relevant testing verification, curve fitting and comparative analysis were conducted on the test data before and after the LCD white balance adjustment, and it was found that the LCD screen had a better performance in white balance. This work achieves an acceptable effect to realize a stable color temperature and realistic image display of the special airborne LCD.
