The fundamental criteria for measuring the near‐eye display eye‐point is evaluated in terms of its impact on the device performance. Several eye‐point determination techniques are used to illustrate how the various derived eye‐point locations affect primary display characteristics such as angular alignment, field of view, and center resolution.
