AbstractThe demand for minimally invasive surgery is continuously growing. Especially when it comes to the treatment of peripheral vascular and coronary artery diseases high quality medical devices are the key for long‐term favorable outcomes. In the past years, shape‐memory alloys (SMA) known to exhibit superelasticity and shape memory behaviors, have revolutionized the medical device manufacturing market. Nitinol is one of the most successfully used SMA. But there are challenges in the industrial machining of the alloy.
