ABSTRACTWe present the first single layer depolarizing chipless RFID tag. The tag is formed by a set of asymmetric hairpin resonators, improving the tag's coding density when compared with previous depolarizing tags. The single layer characteristics of the tags make it possible to print them directly on items or embed them in low profile objects like documents. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
